The Manhyia Palace has urged the public to disregard reports suggesting its involvement in the burial and funeral arrangements of celebrated highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
In a statement issued on Thursday, December 11, 2025, the Palace clarified that it has no role in any ongoing preparations for the late musician’s funeral and advised Ghanaians to rely only on verified information.
The clarification comes amid widespread reports claiming the Palace was participating in plans for Daddy Lumba’s burial, which officials describe as false and misleading.
Tensions have reportedly arisen between the singer’s immediate family and extended relatives over the appropriate burial date. The family has dismissed a circulating date of December 13, 2025, insisting it is unauthorised.
The Palace cautioned that attempts to link it to the matter could create confusion and urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified reports that may escalate tensions surrounding the funeral arrangements.
