Ghanaian DJ advocate Merqury Quaye has taken a swipe at some Ghanaian DJs that they don't really understand the ethics of the profession they are in.

Merqury said the Djs play all hit songs of an artiste billed for the same show before the act comes on stage.

The phenomenon of DJs, especially in Ghana playing popular songs of musical acts billed to perform at shows these same DJs are billed to perform before the artiste gets on stage is gradually becoming a worrying canker.

These DJs will usually play the songs the artiste will eventually perform on stage before the artiste gets on stage. This action of the DJs usually leaves these artiste having a bad day on stage because their fans have already heard the songs played on that particular night.

The discussion of this growing wrong got the award-winning DJ with Hitz FM, Merqury Quaye to throw a few shots in the way of his colleague DJs.

As a reply to the question, “So when at all are our DJs going to stop this thing? They play all hit songs of an artiste billed for the same show before the act comes on stage. Which songs do they expect the Musician to entertain the crowd with after their things?” posed by celebrity blogger Zionfelix, who noted this phenomenon and decided to voice out about it on his Instagram page…

Merqury Quaye wrote: “It is absolutely unprofessional. I have seen a number of DJs doing that probably because they did not have a grip on the ethics of the art. I educate those anytime I chance on them. There is an exception; a DJ can tease the audience with a couple of seconds of a song of a performing artiste.”
