Charterhouse, the organisers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, have announced Saturday, May 6 as the new date to host this year’s event.

Arguably regarded as the biggest, most anticipated, most patronised and Ghana’s biggest music night on the social calendar, Charterhouse had earlier announced Saturday, May 13, for the big day.

Even though there is a change with the date, the venue still remains at the Grand Arena of Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

Earlier this year, musicians were asked to file for nominations for the various categories.

Some of the categories include Artiste of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year, Afrobeats song of the Year, Highlife Song of the Year, among others.

Last year, Lynx Entertainment signee KiDi won the Artiste of the Year award at the VGMAs.

A lot of projections have been made regarding who wins the ultimate laurel in this year’s award.

Even though names of other nominees including Stonebwoy, Camidoh and Sarkodie have come up, gospel artiste, Sarkodie and Piesie Esther are leading as favourites for the nod.
