The Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) and a highlife artiste, Rex Omar has described Shatta Wale as a highlife king.

In an interview with JoyNews, Rex Omar said he believed Shatta Wale has more of highlife rhythmic patterns in his music than that of Dancehall.

If given the opportunity to talk to Shatta Wale he will advise him to brand his songs as highlife song as it has the potentials of making him the number one highlife artiste around the globe, he intimated.

Rex Omar pointed out that the real originators of dancehall are likely not to accept him as a dancehall artiste.

He also praised his talent and creativity which  has seen him produce hit songs like 'chop kiss’.
