The deaths of a few youthful and notable Ghanaians known on social media platforms have stunned many leading to the question, why are many young ones dying.

One such death which rendered many speechless was that of Belinda Asiamah, the model who featured in Obrafuo’s ‘Pimpinaa’ video.

The talk was that she complained of terrible tummy aches only to die afterwards on August 12, 2016.

Thankfully, an interview undertaken by Accra based Hitz FM with a doctor familiar with the case has filled in the gaps.

“She was on admission at the Legon Hospital, what happened was she had an ectopic pregnancy, basically ectopic pregnancy is where the fetus develops outside the womb, typically in the fallopian tube so it called for surgery.

“After the surgery, she had a cardiac seizure where the doctors at the Legon Hospital successfully dealt with. She was transferred here to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on the 11th of August because at the Legon Hospital, there was no support unit. Immediately she was transferred here, she had another seizure which was successfully dealt with but died the following day, that was on the 12th of August 2016.”

This perhaps could sooth the aching hearts of friends and family grieving Belinda’s loss.

Belinda Asiamah who will be buried come September, 3 featured in Yvonne Nelson’s ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’ movie, Obrafour’s ‘Pimpinaa’ video and Guru’s ‘Alkayida’ video.
