For years he was known as an associate of the R2Bees group and its front men Mugeez and Paedae but it’s curious he was not involved in any of their popular tunes or featured prominently in their videos but Criss Waddle has changed all that.

Waddle sometimes called Kweku must have asked himself a few tough questions about his musical fortune and realised he must be his own man if posterity was to treat him kind and so the Tema based artiste dug deep and offered decent tracks and videos including ‘P3p33p3’, ‘Forgetti Obiaa’, ‘3shi Shi’, ‘Real Bad Men’ and ‘Ayi’.

But it’s beyond doubt it is his ‘Bie Gya’ tune featuring Stonebwoy which has elevated him and erased doubt from certain minds that his music offerings lacked stamina, verve and mass appeal.

True, the ‘Bie Gya’ tune generated heat given Korle Gonno native and dancehall practitioner Shatta Wale had hurriedly released a song and video with the same title but when Waddle’s song and subsequent video landed, it bolstered his brand.

The Patrick Ellis directed visual was crisp as it was refreshing. The helicopter scene in a Ghanaian video had not been seen in a while after the Buk Bak ‘Gonja Barracks’ film till now which was quite pleasant. The video set in a party chamber exudes luxury with a Rolls Royce to match. Shisha and blunt smoking is evident and the use of exquisite damsels is disarming as the use of rude boys leaves an ‘irie’ feeling.

Waddle’s urban wear is noticeable as is the evident Adidas footwear and attire to spite Wale. Waddle’s ability to pull in featured artiste Stonebwoy as well as R2Bees associates Paedae and Mugeez as well as other resident Ghanaians is commendable.

The song itself settles on the ear easily and truth be told is all about chopping down a lady or better still to Bie Gya (open fire) and recruiting Stonebwoy for this joint proves solid. Talking about a ‘jomming’ place or part, the Street Beatz produced tune, sees Waddle offer some solid rhymes while touching on sexual fantasies, deeds, premature ejaculation and man’s fascination with a woman’s frame.

For a former handyman turned musician Criss Waddle has quite the reputation as a wealthy fellow and with reported ownership of houses, cars including Mercedes, Chevrolet Camero and Range Rover Sport and hefty sums at 5 different Ghana based banks, the man who claims he started making good money in 2012 certainly is no lightweight and with his music becoming hugely popular, it’s a matter of time before the awards and continental fame sets in.

As for claims he is gay, the man who says he has a ferocious appetite for the damsels scoffed at such assertions reportedly submitting that he has snatched chics from friends when he so desired and definitely finds pleasure in a coochie rather than an arse hole.

These are good times for the Arab Money Gang (AMG) boss and with signed artiste Medikal showing he has the materials to go the long haul, AMG can pose a serious threat.

Things can only get better for the rapper and businessman who says he also fixes pipes and bicycles when his album drops before the year concludes to demonstrate he is as good as any out there.
