President John Dramani Mahama has paid glowing tribute to Ghanaian highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, following news of his death.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Mahama said he had learnt of Lumba’s passing “with deep sorrow” and described the singer’s impact as “unmatched.”
“Lumba’s unmatched musical genius provided the soundtrack to our lives, carrying us through various phases of life,” Mahama said. “The beats to his memorable songs may have died down, but his enduring legacy will echo through the ages.”

He extended condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the Government of Ghana, calling the loss “irreplaceable.”
The veteran musician passed away on Saturday, July 26, after a short illness.

With a career spanning over three decades and more than 34 albums to his name, Daddy Lumba's influence on Ghanaian music and culture is immeasurable.
