An 18-month old baby was burnt to death following fire outbreak at Palm wine Junction at La in Accra on Wednesday.
The baby who has been identified as Precious Botso was sleeping in their room while his father was playing a game in front of the house with other friends when the unfortunate incident occurred.
An eyewitness stated that some residents attempted to save the innocent baby during the fire outbreak but the thick smoke from the fire impeded their rescue effort , leading to the toddler’s tragic death.
The timely intervention by the Accra Regional Fire Service with support from the Ghana Armed Forces prevented the fire, which razed about 15 wooden structures destroying several other properties, from spreading to other neighbourhoods.
