19-year-old robber sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in hard labour

The Upper West Regional Police Command has secured a conviction against 19-year-old Adams Hamidu, also known as Gyida, who has been sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment in hard labour for robbery.

The verdict was delivered by the Wa Circuit Court on June 5, 2025.

In February 2025, Gyida, together with another masked accomplice, robbed a victim of a blue Honda motorcycle valued at GH¢20,000, a Tecno mobile phone worth GH¢1,300, and cash totalling GH¢10,800.

Following intelligence-led operations, Gyida was apprehended on 1st June 2025 at Domowa, in the Wa West District.
