The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command have arrested two police officers and three others in connection with a robbery attack that led to last Tuesday's death of a police constable in Kwame-Danso, near Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The number brings to six those arrested, after the Police picked up the prime suspect on Sunday, June 12.

The deceased Police constable, Frank Adu Klu, was shot dead while he was escorting a commercial bus.

Confirming the arrest, the Brong Ahafo Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Christopher Tawiah, said they are still on a hunt for other suspects who are at large.

“The prime suspect mentioned five names that accompanied him to commit the robbery on the market women, so the Police went ahead and arrested them this dawn. These people include two Police men; one is Lance corporal Asiedu Mensah and Corporal Solomon Abu.”

ASP Tawaiah said the suspect confessed that one of the arrested officers “sold the ammunition” to him while the other one “took part in the physical attack.”

He also added that the Police officers were from the Goaso and Atebubu divisions respectively.

The Regional Police PRO, according to citifmonline, says they had information that the suspects were seven in number.
