The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced that the 2025 school placement exercise will start on September 17, 2025.

This was disclosed by GES Director-General, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, at a media briefing on Wednesday, August 27, following the release of provisional results for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

According to him, students who receive placements are expected to report to their respective schools between October 18 and October 20, 2025.

To streamline the placement process, GES has implemented a special review window aimed at minimising errors.

From September 1 to September 8, 2025, candidates will have the opportunity to access the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal to verify important details such as gender, school code, and programme code.

“In order to reduce the errors associated with school placement, candidates will have the opportunity to review the entries they have made; gender, school code, programme code, online on www.csses.gov.gh.

“This will be supported by an explainer video to guide parents. This exercise is expected on the 1st of September and ends on the 8th of September. The actual placement exercise will commence on the 17th of September. Students are expected to report to campus and begin their studies between 18th to 20th October,” he stated.

Prof. Davis urged parents and candidates to refrain from making any payments to secure placements at specific schools, indicating that the placement process will be conducted fairly, transparently, and based strictly on merit.
