Several passengers have been injured, with, at least, 6 in critical condition after two buses collided head-on at Potsin junction on the Accra-Cape Coast highway on Sunday, July 22, 2018.

Police explained that the accident occurred at 7 pm near an area called Mustapha Plus when a white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus with registration number AC 1756 – 17 travelling from Ashanti Bekwai, made an illegal overtaking and collided with another Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus with registration number GT 3404 – 17 travelling from Accra to Mankessim.

Gomoa Dominase District police commander, ASP Paul Ankan, said the critically injured persons have been sent to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist hospital for intensive care.

ASP Paul Ankan called on the Minister of Roads and Highways to put speed ramps on the Kasoa-Cape Coast highway to halt further road accidents.
