Kwame Baffoe, aka Abronye, Chairman of the Bono Region New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been granted a GH¢50,000 bail by an Accra Circuit Court.

This was after one of his lawyers, Daniel Nii Martey Addo, filed for abridgement of time in respect of the next adjourned date, which was September 19, 2025.

According to defence counsel, the next adjourned date had to be abridged as a result of the health condition of his client.

The court noted that the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Jonas Lawer, did not oppose the prayer of the defence, hence admitted Baffoe, who was not present in court, to bail with one surety.

It further directed Baffoe to report to the Police once a week (Wednesdays).

Baffoe has pleaded not guilty to the charge of publication of false news and offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace.

The matter has been adjourned to October 7, 2025.
