A burst pipeline at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange (Circle) in front of the Total Filling Station close to Iran Clinic has been left attended to for two weeks.

Water from the pipeline has spread and covered portions of the road. The situation has also started causing the road to develop potholes.

Some traders along the stretch told Prime News the situation has been the same for over two weeks. Most vehicles plying the road now have to slow down to avoid splashing water on pedestrians and also traders along the road.

Some parts of Accra this week were without water due to the same issue of a burst pipeline that was not attended to.

Areas affected in the water cut included Sakaman, Odorkor, Dansoman, Agege, Chorkor, Korle-bu, Korle Gonno, Kaneshie, Mallam, Bubuashie among other areas in Western parts of Accra.

36-inch transmission pipeline which burst on the main Mallam-Gbawe stretch was said to be the reasons for the water shortage.

In response to the burst pipeline and its damaging effect to the road, a customer agent at the Ghana Water Company Limited explained that upon our call the information will be passed on to the team in charge of the area to come to the scene and fix the problem.
