More than eighteen shops at Makola market in Accra have been demolished by heavily built men said to be from the National Security who claimed to be enforcing a court ruling.

According to Joy FM's report, the traders said the men claimed they were enforcing the law which has awarded White Chapel Limited portions of the land they are working on.

They accused White Chapel of breaching court processes when the group of men demolished their structures on Friday.

"There was a judgment in favor of White Chapel but there is a process you have to go through..." one of the traders said.

The traders said excavators were brought in on Sunday to continue the demolishing exercise but were stopped by the police.

"We were there on Sunday when we were called that they have come in with excavators to continue with the demolishing, they said they are from National Security.."

Lawyer for the traders, Nii Ashie said they will sue the company for damages.

"We will serve them and after they have been served we will go to the court to move an application for the stay of execution."
