Chinese 'galamsey' kingpin, Aisha Huang broke down into tears when the Accra High Court hearing her bail application adjourned to June 2.

Aisha Huang, said to be the mastermind behind some Chinese galamsey operators who had been blackmailing very important persons in the country with sex tapes in order to evade arrests, was arrested earlier this month with four other Chinese nationals and is currently facing charges of engaging in illegal mining as well as immigration offences.

Her lawyers have been seeking a bail for her but presenting their respective positions with state prosecutors on the bail application, the court presided over by Mr Justice Charles Ekow Baiden, adjourned sitting again in order to have ample time to give a ruling.

Her lawyers had argued that Aisha was unwell and required urgent medical attention but Mr Justice Baiden ordered that Huang and the other four Chinese standing trial should be taken back to prison custody until the ruling on June 2, 2017.

Immediately after the adjournment and the subsequent court recess, a clearly furious Aisha banged her fist on the seat and broke down in tears moments after.

It took her lawyers and immigration officials over 15 minutes before they could console her.
