‘Hands Off Our Hotels Demonstration’ is set to come off today, June 18, 2024.

This is a demonstration organized by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa against the sale of four Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) hotels to Rock City Hotel Limited.

The North Tongu MP has the support of organized labour, the minority in parliament and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

At a press conference on Monday, the North Tongu MP said the demonstration will start at 8am in front of the Labadi Beach Hotel, proceed to the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and continue along Giffard Road, leading to the Lands Commission.

He explained that, subject to meeting with a Jubilee House official to receive the petition, he has agreed with police to end the protest at Christ the King Catholic Church, close to the Jubilee House.

It will be recalled that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwajas petitioned CHRAJ to investigate the sale of four hotels belonging to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to Rock City Hotel Limited.

He believes that it is part of a grand plan of state conquest by the current government; something that should not be allowed.

Ablakwa, in several social media posts, believes there is no value for money given that these facilities are even more profitable than the Rock City Hotel.
