Some angry artisans are demanding justice for a colleague who was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon at Alajo over an altercation.

The artisans say the suspect who fired indiscriminately must be dealt with accordingly. One of them, Seth Nii-Armah in an interview on JoyFM said he, together with his angry colleagues want the suspect charged, prosecuted and imprisoned for his act of lawlessness.

A misunderstanding over vehicular parking space at an Alajo mechanic shop, turned bloody when a car dealer fired into a crowd of artisans who were pushing his car, parked wrongly on the main road, out of the way.

According to the artisans, they told the suspect to move his car because it was causing a traffic jam, but he snubbed them and alighted, leaving a lady passenger in the car.

The artisans then decided to push the car out of the road but the suspect reacted by firing a number of warning shots after which he allegedly aimed at one of the artisans who had sat in the car in the attempt to park it well.

However, a stray bullet from the gun hit another artisan, Richard Boadi, who was standing close to the action but not involved in it. He was rushed to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead, Wednesday.

Tesano District Police Commander Superintendent Edward Tetteh said they are yet to determine the actual cause of death as an autopsy has yet to be conducted on the body. He stated however that the suspect is in the custody of the police and is facing charges of attempted murder.
