The Children Support Fund, established to ensure the welfare of children whose parents died in the August 6 helicopter crash, has received donations totaling GH₵ 6,583,600.00 and US$20,000.00.
A press statement signed by Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, Dr Valerie Sawyerr, announced that eleven donors contributed to the fund between September 1 and 11, bringing the total donations received to the current amount.
The latest contributors include corporations and individuals who responded to the appeal for support. NIB Ghana, Keda Ghana Ceramics Limited, and MTN Ghana were among the corporate donors, while individuals such as Cynthia Naa Odotey, Nana Victoria Akyaa Afriyie-Abrokwa, and Kay Simmon also made contributions.
Other donors during this period included Chase Group Foundation, Dela Radio, KGL Technology, Charles Incoom, and Ghana Commercial Bank.
The fund was established following the tragic helicopter crash that occurred on August 6, 2025.
According to the update, donations can be made through Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited accounts at the Stanbic Heights Branch in Accra.
“The Ghana Cedi account number is 9040013628372, while the US Dollar account number is 9040013628534,” the statement added.
The coordinator specified that cheques and bank drafts should be made payable to “Children Support Fund 6825.” Mobile money payments can also be made through designated payment platforms, according to the announcement.
The fund aims to provide long-term support for the children who lost their parents in the helicopter tragedy. The establishment of the fund represents an effort to ensure these children receive adequate care and support following the loss of their parents.
