Driver defiles 11-year-old pupil in kiosk

A 32-year-old driver was on Friday put before and Accra Circuit Court for defiling an 11 year old girl at La-Wireless.

 

The accused, Emmanuel Konadu, denied the charge of defilement and was remanded into police custody by the court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku  to reappear on May 11.

According to Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire, Konadu aka Yaw who resides at  La with the complainant and mother of the victim in January this year, invited the victim and her friend who had gone to collect money from victim’s father to come and watch television in his kiosk and they obliged.

Inspector Atimbire said the victim’s friend left her in the kiosk and went home. Konadu laid a student mattress on the floor and asked the victim to stoop and he had sexual intercourse with her after which he  gave GH¢ 2.00 to the victim and warned her not tell anyone about it .

The victim however informed another friend. On February 13, this year, the complainant was informed by the victim’s friend and she reported the matter to the Police at La where it was referred to the Domestic Violence and Victim’s Support Unit.

A medical form was issued to the complainant to send the victim to the hospital for treatment and on April 27 this year, Konadu was arrested, GNA reported.
