The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced extended service hours across selected offices nationwide as part of efforts to improve service delivery and enhance public access.

The new arrangement, which takes effect from Monday, May 4, 2026, will see 15 DVLA offices operating up to 10:00 p.m. daily under a structured two-shift system.

The affected offices include Nahrman (near Haatso), Weija, Tema, Bolgatanga, Wa, Tamale, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Koforidua, Sunyani, Ho, Techiman, Kumasi, Winneba, and Tarkwa.

According to the Authority, the initiative aligns with the government’s broader 24-hour economy agenda, which aims to boost productivity, improve accessibility, and enhance convenience for citizens.

DVLA says the extended hours are expected to reduce long queues, ease congestion at offices, and allow more flexibility for individuals who are unable to access services during regular working hours.

Under the new policy, all payments made after 5:00 p.m. will be limited to electronic options, as part of efforts to modernise operations and promote cashless transactions.

The Authority has encouraged the public to take advantage of the extended hours to access services directly, noting that this will help reduce reliance on middlemen and improve efficiency.

DVLA further appealed for public cooperation as it works to fully operationalise a 24-hour service framework across its offices nationwide.
