The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has suspended all activities of its Compliance Team related to the imposition of fines on motorists, effective Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
A press release issued by the DVLA said the decision to suspend the enforcement is based on feedback from the public.
It indicated that the suspension is to allow for an extended engagement on the matter before reintroducing the Compliance Team on the roads.
The DVLA further noted that although it remains committed to ensuring safety on our roads, it was also important for public education on the activities of the Compliance Team.
”Although committed to ensuring safety on our roads, we equally appreciate the fact that the general public must be adequately educated to fully appreciate the responsibilities unapproved conducts on our roads come with. The general public is specifically informed that this exercise is in relation to the fees and charges that were being enforced by the Compliance Team.”
It also added that the suspension of the activities does not suspend the legal requirements for drivers and vehicles to use our roads.
