Commercial drivers who ply their routes to and from the Osenase-Oda in the Lower West Akyem Municipality and Arsene Manso in the Akroso Districts of the Eastern Region are working in fear due to constant attacks by armed robbers.
The frequent attacks are as a result of the bad nature of the roads which slows their movement allowing the robbers to attack them easily.
They said armed robbery attacks have become rampant in the municipality both day and night because of the poor nature of the roads.
The commercial drivers told PrimeNewsGhana in an interview that, the poor road network in the area has become a major challenge for drivers.
Apart from the armed robbery attacks, the drivers complained of frequent breakdown of vehicles, leading to the armed robbery attacks.
Sanahene of Odau Traditional Area, Bafour Korankye Adade I, is, therefore, appealing to the government to as a matter of urgency, come to the aid of the two districts by constructing the roads for them.
