The Electricity of Ghana says power has been fully restored to the 70% of the country which experienced a power outage on Wednesday evening.

Public Relations Officer(PRO) William Boateng says the situation has been fixed and efforts are being put in place to ensure it does not recur in future.

Speaking on Joy News, he said, "we are working to ensure that the challenge is fixed so there would not be such issues when the rain sets in."

He admitted that poor weather condition affected power supply in most areas of the country and assured they are working assiduously to fix the situation.

"The planning of some areas affect the reliability of power supply and also some transformers are able to deal with the load in certain parts of the country," he assured

To address the situation some existing low capacity transformers are being replaced with bigger ones to accommodate the increasing load in many parts of the country.

"When that is done, he is certain the power situation will normalize as we still have enough power to use in the country,” he stated.
