The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested the former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, as part of an ongoing investigation.
Mr Jumah was reportedly picked up on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, following a raid on his private residence in Kumasi last week. He is currently in EOCO custody.
Sources close to the investigation say the arrest is linked to suspected breaches of public financial management rules during his tenure at GIHOC.
Investigators are seeking to determine how some official resources were managed under his leadership at the state-owned company.
The case forms part of a broader probe into possible financial irregularities, although EOCO has yet to release an official statement detailing the specific allegations.
