Gambaga Police intercept vehicle loaded with weapons

Police at Gambaga in the East Mamprusi District of the Northern Region on Friday morning intercepted a Nissan Patrol vehicle with registration number GE 5433-16 and retrieved six pump action guns and 130 cartridges from it.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mohammed Yussif Tanko, Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, who confirmed this said six occupants of the vehicle including a woman were arrested and detained at the Police station whiles retrieved items were kept for evidential purposes.

ASP Yussif Tanko said the vehicle was travelling from Tamale, and it was headed toward the direction of Namong, a village in the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District.
