The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has released GH¢199.47 million to clear outstanding payments owed to suppliers of perishable goods under the Free Senior High School (FSHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes.

The fund disclosed that the amount was paid through three cheques to settle arrears accumulated over several months. The payments cover supplies delivered between October and February for FSHS and October to December for TVET institutions.

According to GETFund, the disbursement is aimed at easing financial pressure on suppliers and ensuring the continuous supply of essential food items to schools across the country.

The fund noted that the move reflects government’s commitment to honouring its obligations to service providers who play a key role in supporting feeding and logistics in educational institutions.

It added that timely payments will help sustain operations within schools and improve service delivery under both programmes.

GETFund also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining strong collaboration with stakeholders to strengthen education delivery nationwide.
