Ghana is celebrating its 69th Independence Day today, March 6, 2026.
The celebration will be held at the forecourt of the Jubilee House as part of efforts to reduce public expenditure.
This year’s anniversary is themed ‘Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope’.
This year marks the second consecutive year the national parade will take place at Jubilee House, the seat of government.
At the time, government figures indicated that the event cost GH¢1.5 million, compared to an estimated GH¢15 million had it been organised at Black Star Square.
Members of the diplomatic corps, the clergy, traditional leaders and other dignitaries are expected to participate in the event.
