The Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) has confirmed a temporary interruption in water supply to several communities in western Accra following a technical challenge at the Weija Water Treatment Plant.
According to the company, the fault has disrupted production and distribution, leading to low pressure and irregular flow in affected areas.
The affected areas include Dansoman, Mamprobi, Mataheko, Laterbiokorshie, Korle-Bu, La Paz, MacCarthy Hill, Gbawe, Mallam, Tesano, Darkuman, North Kaneshie, Dome, Achimota, Anyaa, Ablekuma and surrounding areas.
Management of Ghana Water Ltd assured residents that engineers are actively working to resolve the issue and restore stable supply in the shortest possible time.
Customers have been advised to store water whenever supply is restored to help cope with the temporary disruption.

GHANA WATER LTD ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTIONS IN PARTS OF WESTERN ACCRA
Accra, Ghana – May 13, 2026
Management of Ghana Water Ltd wishes to inform the public that the Weija Water Treatment Plant is currently experiencing some technical challenges which have affected water production and distribution to some parts of western Accra.
As a result of the situation, customers in the following areas may experience erratic water supply and low water pressure:
Dansoman, Mamprobi, Mataheko, Laterbiokorshie, Korle-bu, La Paz, MacCarthy Hill, Gbawe, Mallam, Tesano, Darkuman, North Kaneshie, Dome, Achimota, Anyaa, Ablekuma and surrounding communities.
Management wishes to assure the public that engineers and technical teams of Ghana Water Ltd are working assiduously to rectify the challenges and restore normal water supply as early as practicable.
Consumers are kindly advised to store water anytime there is flow in their communities to help manage the temporal disruption.
