Students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism(GIJ) yesterday, December 2, 2018, agitated over a policy demanding full payment of school fees and online registration before they will be given access to examination halls.

There was chaos on campus on Sunday, December 2, 2018, as authorities denied students access to write their end of semester examinations over the online registration.

In an interview with Prime News Ghana ,a level 400 weekend student disclosed that "The reason for the demonstration was that some of us weren't able to register online, some of us didn't meet the deadlines, some students on the GETFUND scholarships are being asked to go and find money to pay, if the person had money, the person wouldn't have gone looking for scholarships  and contact the students loan. When you go to other tertiary institutions if you haven't paid, you do not get access to your transcript and your certificate, what is special about GIJ?

she added that ''GIJ has suddenly become inhumane, the authorities are not sympathetic. When they are introducing policies, they should have pity because people are really suffering, the system is not easy. I haven't written two papers and I have to defer my course''.

Another student told Prime News Ghana "I paid my balance of  Gh200 on Monday, but  I was refused to write my papers''.
