Government has revoked the mining leases of Adamus Resources Limited covering the Akango, Salman and Nkroful concessions over alleged illegal operations.
According to a release issued on Sunday, April 26, 2026, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, took the decision following investigations by the Minerals Commission which found violations of Ghana’s mining laws.
The report indicated that the company engaged in unauthorised mining activities, including subcontracting operations without ministerial approval, operating without approved mining plans, and failing to secure required environmental permits.
It further alleged that Adamus allowed foreign nationals to undertake illegal mining activities and operated outside designated concession areas, resulting in environmental damage and risks to water bodies and local livelihoods.
The Minister, acting on recommendations from the Minerals Commission, described the violations as severe and said the revocation was in the public interest as part of efforts to curb illegal mining.
