Policy Think tank, Strategic Thinkers Network (STRANEK) is requesting President Nana Akufo Addo as a matter of urgency call the supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to order to help Ghana maintain the peace it has enjoyed after previous elections.
“The activities of the thugs is creating fear, panic, insecurity to Ghanaians. We believe that it is uncalled for and there are better ways to resolve matters or take over government offices than violently barging in and causing chaos.” Stranek stated in a statement signed by the Executive Director Nii Tettey Tetteh.
According to Stranek, on the backdrop of Article 17 of the 1992 constitution of Ghana, no person or group of persons should be allowed to jeopardized the unity, peace and security of Ghana irrespective of the their party affiliations.
“It is on that note as a think tank that fosters the security for all Ghanaians and other citizens, we deem it fit to advocate for the calling of the NPP thugs to order. We need one Ghana no matter the political divide or affiliation. Nobody is bigger than Ghana hence peace, unity, security must be the fulcrum to the progress and development of this nation.”
