Former Member of Parliament (MP), for La Dadekotopon, Nii Amasah Namoale has cautioned former President John Dramani Mahama to overturn his decision not to contest the upcoming 2020 elections because he will be defeated in the primaries.

According to Nii Amasah Namoale, he is ready to defeat ‘anyone who dare contests’ him in the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential primaries.

Speaking on Peace FM, he said “I will beat anyone who would contest with me including John Mahama…”

The former La Dadekotopon Legislator earlier in the year disclosed his willingness to lead the opposition National Democratic Congress into the 2020 elections and that the only person that will make him rescind his decision if he expresses interest in contesting e NDC primaries is the Vice Chancellor of University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), Professor Joshua Alabi.

He stated that “2020 Nii Amasah Namoale would contest for the presidency if Professor Joshua Alabi is not contesting… ”

Mr Namoale, it must be noted, was defeated in last year's general elections, losing his long-held La Dadekotopon seat to the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Accra Hearts of Oak, Vincent Sowah Odotei.

The former MP who famous for his utterances on radio some of which could be described as polled 38,504 votes as against Odotei's 40,126 votes.

But according to him, he does not see his inability to retain the La Dadekotopon seat as a barrier to him winning the presidential primaries of the NDC.

The former President is also rumoured to be getting ready to contest the party’s primaries and possibly lead the NDC to the 2020 elections.
