A third suspect linked to the murder of 38-year-old Immigration Officer, Stephen King Amoah, has reportedly passed away after a short illness.
Kwasi Amoako, the deceased’s brother, disclosed this, citing information from the police officer handling the case at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
Mr. Amoah was reported missing on July 3, 2025, and his charred body was later found at Abuom Junction, near Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.
While the police have not officially commented on the suspect’s death, the family welcomes the development as a step towards justice.
The case remains under investigation.
Meanwhile, tensions ran high outside the Adabraka District Court on Friday, August 22, 2025, as the family of slain Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah expressed frustration over the handling of the murder case.
The family accused the police of shielding the suspects, Bright Aweh and Thomas Zigah, and warned that they would take matters into their own hands if any family member is harmed.
“If the police keep shielding them by collecting money, we will deal with them ourselves,” Yaw Mensah, an in-law of the deceased, told journalists.
The defence counsel for Thomas Zigah requested that his client, who appeared to be in pain and limping, be referred to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, but the prosecution opposed the request.
The judge ruled that the defence must file a formal application for a transfer.
The case will resume on September 4, with the family closely monitoring developments.
