Interior Minister charges NIA Board to strengthen National ID system for all Ghanaians

Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has sworn in the reconstituted Governing Board of the National Identification Authority (NIA).

The board, chaired by Moses Afetsi Positive, has been tasked with guiding the NIA in its mission to enhance national identification systems.

The members include Dr. Gifty Seiwaa Nyarkoo, Mr. Eric Coffie, Wisdom Kwaku Deku, Kwesi Afreh Biney, Philip Peter Andoh, Mr. Samuel Adom Botchway, Dr. Senanu Kwesi Djokoto, Mrs. Rosemary Parker, and Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu.

Muntaka charged the new Board members to work towards achieving the NIA’s mandate of providing a secure and reliable identification system for all Ghanaians. He expressed confidence in the Board’s ability to drive the Authority’s efforts in enhancing national security and promoting socioeconomic development.

The Chairman of the Board, Mr. Moses Afetsi Positive, expressed their commitment to supporting the NIA’s objectives, pledging to foster collaboration and transparency in their tenure.

The new Board is expected to provide strategic direction and oversight to the NIA in its quest to deliver quality identification services to the public.
