A form three Business student of Islamic Senior High School in Kumasi, identified as Abass, has died after falling from the top floor of the school’s administration block.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. He was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Abass, who was serving as the acting Boys Prefect, reportedly fell during school hours, prompting a swift response from students and staff who heard the commotion and hurried to the scene.
Sources within the school say the student had allegedly been struggling emotionally for some time, with suggestions that he had considered taking his own life. School authorities, however, were unaware of any such intentions.
Family members, including his mother and uncle, as well as some students, confirmed that Abass had previously made comments that suggested he might harm himself, but those around him believed he was joking and did not pay close attention.
His body has since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic traditions.
