The High Court in Accra has thrown out the police application for an injunction on the highly anticipated #FixtheCountry demonstration.
The ruling by the court on Friday, June 25, 2021, means that the demonstration can finally come off.
Police have been seeking to restrain the demonstrations on grounds that such a mass gathering is a potential COVID-19 super spreader, however, the court ruled on Friday that the application is moot.

According to the court, the injunction is seeking to prevent a protest that was slated for May 9.
The presiding judge, Justice Ruby Aryeetey, stated that the protestors should comply with the necessary laws for any future intended demonstration.
#FixTheCountry campaigners have been pushing for a more responsive government about what they say are the many social challenges.
The planned demonstration, according to conveners, is within their rights and would force the government to turn attention to the myriad of problems they say the country is facing.
They mention harsh economic conditions, poor roads, corruption, insecurity, poor healthcare, poor education among others as some of the critical challenges facing the country.
In court on Friday, the Attorney-General, Godfred Dame, argued against the street protest on grounds that there is currently an Executive Instrument barring large political gatherings over the coronavirus pandemic.
However, lawyers for the #FixtheCountry campaign told the court that political gatherings being held quite often across the country.
They also claimed that Ghana Health Service has indicated that outdoor gatherings can not spread the coronavirus.
