Mahama and Francois Hollande confer, French leader to visit in October

President John Dramani Mahama and his French counterpart, Francois Hollande, on Tuesday held bilateral talks in the Élysée Palace, Paris.

The meeting discussed the security situation in West Africa, trade and investment, and other issues of mutual interest to both countries.

Relations between Ghana and France has been strengthened under President Mahama and President Hollande, with an increase in French investment in Ghana and the exchange of visits at the highest political levels.

President Mahama is in Paris at the invitation of UNESCO to take part in a series of activities to commemorate this year's International Day for Universal Access to Information.

 

Answering questions from journalists after their closed door meeting, President Mahama announced a visit to Ghana by the Prime Minister of France Manual Valls next month.
