The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has said extracts of questions for Elective Mathematics 2 and Section A of English Language 2 were in circulation on social media platforms before the exams were taken.
Elective Maths was written on Thursday, September 9, 2021, while the English paper was written on Monday, September 13.
Head of Test Administration, Ohene Mantey, said poor supervision is to blame for the leak.
He revealed at a press conference on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, that some 11 schools are under strict surveillance over their involvement in examination malpractices.
At the press briefing, Mr Mantey further stated that as part of efforts to better protect the integrity of the exams, WAEC has enacted strict internal controls and have ensured staff comply with security regulations of the council.
Also, WAEC has rescheduled the dates for Physics and Business Management examinations.
The papers were supposed to be taken on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, per the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) timetable, released earlier.
However, the two papers have been postponed till a yet-to-be-communicated date.
