St. Margaret Mary Senior High School has qualified to the quarter-final stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz(2018 NSMQ) after a tight contest with Takoradi SHS and Labone Senior High.
 Against all odds, however, St Margaret Mary SHS kicked seeded school Takoradi SHS and Labone Senior High out of the competition in the one-eighth session.
At the end of the contest, St Margaret Mary SHS was in the lead with 26 points, Takoradi SHS scored 23 points, while Labone Senior High lagged behind with 19 points.
22 schools out of 27 in the one-eighth session of the NSMQ 2018, have so far qualified for the quarter-final stage.
The one-eighth stage of the NSMQ is expected to end on Wednesday, 27th June 2018, for the quarter-final stage to begin from Thursday, 28th June 2018 to June 30, followed by the Semi-Finals on July 2, 2018.
At the quarterfinal stage, each point of the competing schools will be worth Five Ghana cedis (GHS 5) and this will be paid out to each of the three competitors and their teacher.
The Grand Finale of this year's National Science and Maths Quiz will be held on Thursday, July 5.
