Executive director of Amnesty International Lawrence Amesu has described the flogging of some young adults by Bishop Obinim as physical and psychological torture.

Mr. Lawrence Amesu who spoke to Starr News intimated, the act by Bishop Obinim has reduced the dignity of the individuals to zero adding the act was a total human rights abuse.

“He flogs them as if they were inanimate object, totally reducing their dignity to zero and is a crime to do so.”

He adviced contemporary preachers especially Bishop Obinim to “move away from the olden ways of doing things as if an eye for an eye.”

Mr. Amesu further called on the police service not to “put this case under the carpet” as it will not speak well of us as a people.
