In a bid to ensure stability in the state ahead of November’s presidential and parliamentary election, the People’s National Convention (PNC) has barred its office holders and persons representing the party from honouring speaking invitations from Accra based Montie FM.

According to General Secretary Atik Mohammed, he’s been directed by the party to inform Montie FM, to stop sending invites to its officers as it finds the level of unprofessionalism threatening to the peace of the country.

"The atmosphere is so poisoned and the host is the lead 'poisoner' and sets the tone...and he gets people he can charge to come and further poison the environment," Atik observed while contributing on Atinka FM’s AM Drive show.

Atik Mohammed’s comments follow threats issued by panelists Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn on Supreme Court judges whom they perceive to be interfering in the work of the Electoral Commission regarding the voter's register debate.

The two who without let or hindrance by the host or management of the station made the unguarded statements have been picked up security officers for questioning.

According to Mr. Mohammed, the regulatory body must ban both Montie FM and Oman FM since their programming contents posed a threat to the nation's fragile peace adding any party member who defies the order shall be duly sanctioned.
