The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has taken into custody Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt following comments he allegedly made in a viral video, in which he called on some young people to march to the residence of the late highlife icon Daddy Lumba.
According to a police statement, preliminary investigations indicate that Counsellor Lutterodt’s remarks about the late musician were deemed offensive and likely to provoke a disturbance of public peace.
Police confirmed that Counsellor Lutterodt has since been granted bail but is expected to appear in court on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
“He faces charges of offensive conduct conducive to breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), as well as inciting violence under the Criminal Offences Act and the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491),” the statement said.
