Policeman and driver die in accident

A Police  Corporal, Nathaniel Afriyie Marfo and a driver of the GCB Bank Paul Koranteng  died in an accident at Kwahu-Tafo.

Late Corporal Marfo and Corporal Frederick Addai from the Nkawkaw Division of the Police Service were on special duties to Afram Plains and were traveling with three others in a GCB Bank Nissan pick-up with registration number 47927- G from Nkawkaw to Donkorkrom.

At Kwahu-Tafo, the pick-up veered from its lane into the lane of an on-coming vehicle and had a head-on collision with the vehicle with registration number GT 724 F.

Occupants of both vehicles sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Kwahu Government Hospital at Atibie for treatment.

Late Corporal Marfo and the late Koranteng aged 43, were pronounced dead by the medical Doctor on duty at the hospital on arrival.

The two bodies have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue awaiting autopsy while seven   passengers in the two vehicles are on admission at the same hospital.

According to police sources, the other policeman, Corporal  Addai has been rushed to the Police Hospital in Accra for further treatment.

The vehicles involved in the accident are yet to be towed to the Kwahu Tafo police station for further investigations.
