‘We are scared’: Two Ghanaian students in Ukraine recount ordeal amid Russian explosions
Two Ghanaian students in war-hit Ukraine have been describing the melee that has been triggered by the ongoing Russian-led invasion.
The students say many Ghanaian nationals who are in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and surrounding towns in pursuing higher education are in dire need of government assistance to move out of the nation.

As Russian forces advance on the Ukrainian capital, the authorities are calling on the population to do everything they can to resist the invading troops.
Both the Ministry of Defence and the Interior Ministry are appealing to Kyiv residents to "inform us of troop movements, to make Molotov cocktails and neutralise the enemy".

President Akufo-Addo has commissioned four aluminium offshore security vessels for the Ghana Navy at the Western Naval Command in Sekondi in the Western Region.
They are GNS Volta-P40, GNS Densu- P41, GNS- P42 and GNS Ankobra-P3.
Permanent Rep to UN says Ghana unreservedly stands by Ukraine
Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Harold Adlai Agyeman, says Ghana is maintaining its support for Ukraine and respect for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Delivering a statement at the United Nations Security Council on the crisis in Ukraine, he said the situation in Ukraine is troubling and leaves not just the immediate neighbors but all countries of the world insecure.
Police allegedly backtracks on Nigel Gaisie invitation over Omuofia prophecies
Police have cancelled an invitation to the founder of the Prophetic Hill Chapel, Nigel Gaisie, to report to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters.
His invitation was over his 31 December 2021 ‘Umuofia’ prophecies.
In a statement on Thursday, February 24, 2022, the Charismatic church explained that the cancellation of the invitation extended to its leader was communicated through a phone call.

Dr Vladimir Antwi Danso, an International Relations Expert and Security Analyst, says it is unsafe to evacuate Ghanaians in conflict-hit Ukraine because the airspace is currently porous.
He said though the Government might be concerned about its citizens in Ukraine following the invasion of that country by Russia, it was not secure and convenient to evacuate them using the regular routes.

The think tank has warned that if nothing is done by authorities in Ghana, there will be an astronomical increase in the price of the commodity in Ghana by March, citing rising fuel prices on the global market due to the Ukraine crisis.

UEFA on Friday voted to move this season’s Champions League final to Paris as punishment for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The final on May 28, had been scheduled to be played in St. Petersburg, in a stadium built for 2018 World Cup and financed by the Russian energy giant Gazprom, a major UEFA sponsor.
