Lawyers of the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA), Prof Ransford Gyampo, are demanding a retraction and apology from Dr George Domfeh, after he labelled the former as a paedophile during an altercation on a TV Show over the weekend.
They have given him a 24-hour ultimatum to retract the said offensive statement and apologise to their client.
“You claimed in a statement widely published on the popular national media platform that our Client is a Professor who sleeps with underage girls. The statement was widely understood by many right-thinking members of the viewing public to mean that our client is a paedophile.”
They find the statement not only reckless but “false, malicious and presents a public image of our Client as hideously immoral and irresponsible.”
Given the platform on which the publication was made, there is no doubt about the extensive damage that this profoundly defamatory statement has done to the reputation of our Client, a respected academic and a national thought leader.”
“To be satisfactory, your retraction statement and apology should be published on a similar prominent platform hosted by the media organisation on whose network you made the impugned statement.”
They threatened to take legal action against him if he fails to comply.
