The National Service Authority (NSA) has instructed all National Service Personnel (NSPs) posted to institutions under the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) to continue reporting for duty despite the ongoing strike action by the association.

CLOGSAG began its industrial action on March 9, 2026, over the government’s alleged failure to improve conditions of service. The National Labour Commission (NLC) had invited both parties to a hearing on March 11, but CLOGSAG’s leadership failed to attend. The hearing has been rescheduled for March 18, 2026.

In a statement issued on Thursday, March 12, 2026, the NSA clarified that National Service Personnel are not members of CLOGSAG and therefore are not parties to the strike.

“The National Service Authority wishes to inform all National Service Personnel currently deployed to institutions under CLOGSAG that they are not parties to the ongoing industrial action declared by the association,” the statement said.

The authority stressed that all affected personnel are expected to continue reporting to their assigned workplaces and carry out their duties as required.

“Accordingly, all National Service Personnel serving in institutions under CLOGSAG are required to continue reporting to their respective places of posting and perform their assigned duties,” the statement added.

NSA management urged NSPs to remain committed to their national service obligations and support the institutions where they are posted.

“Management, therefore, urges all affected NSPs to remain dedicated to their national duty and offer their services in support of the institutions to which they have been assigned,” the authority said, expressing gratitude to personnel for their cooperation and commitment to national development.
