Two suspects have been arrested in connection with Tuesday’s robbery at the offices of Royal Motors Limited at the Industrial Area in Accra.

The suspects, who are believed to have been involved in the attack which cost the company to lose an undisclosed amount of money, were picked up hours after the robbery incident, Police Public Affairs Director, ACP David Eklu said.

ACP Eklu speaking on Joy News however assured that the police is working to apprehend the rest of the culprits, but will not disclose the identities of the suspects or where the two suspects are being held up.

Public Relations Officer of the Greater-Accra Regional Police, ASP Afia Tenge disclosed that all two vehicles hijacked during the robbery have been recovered and will help the police in their investigation of the crime.

“When they were escaping in their Toyota Corolla that they used for the robbery, they bumped into another car and that caused them to abandon the car.

“They hijacked another car and they absconded in that one but we have recovered all the cars and it will help us in investigations”, she added.

On Tuesday, February 27, armed men stormed Royal Motors, a motorbike retail company in the North Industrial Area in Accra, Tuesday morning, and made away with a huge undisclosed amount of money and a vehicle.

The robbers fired multiple shots, destroyed glass windows and locked the secretary, security man, sales manager and other staff in one office, while they snatched about 8,000 cedis from the secretary's office.

They also entered another room where cash from the previous day was being counted attacked the cashier, took the money and destroyed a CCTV camera.

They snatched a car, took the damaged CCTV recording unit along with the undisclosed amount of money.
