The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned power outages in several communities across the Ashanti Region to allow for scheduled maintenance works on its distribution network.
In a statement issued on Sunday, July 19, ECG said the maintenance exercises will be carried out on Tuesday, July 21, and Wednesday, July 22, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on both days.
The company explained that the temporary interruption in electricity supply is necessary to enable engineers to undertake essential maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of power supply.
On Tuesday, July 21, the exercise will affect Ahwiaa, Medoma, Buokrom, Buokrom Estate F-Line, Buokrom Estate D-Line, South Africa, Truba and nearby communities.

Another phase of the maintenance programme on Wednesday, July 22, will impact Old Tafo, New Road Junction and surrounding areas.

ECG also announced separate outages on the same day for residents of Bonwire, Amanpe, Adanwomase, Baman and neighbouring communities.

In addition, electricity supply will be interrupted in Kumaca, Asokore Mampong, the Royal Foam Factory area, CCC, the Asokore Mampong Municipal area and adjoining localities.

According to ECG, the maintenance works form part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the electricity distribution network and improve the quality and stability of power supply to customers.
The company apologised for the inconvenience the planned outages may cause and appealed to customers in the affected areas for their patience and cooperation.
“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the company said.
