Ghana ranked 108th out of a list of 156 countries in the Ranking of happiness 2015-2017, according to the World Happiness Report.

While Nigeria ranked 17 places ahead of Ghana, placing 91st, Somalia ranked 98, meaning the living conditions in these countries make them happier than Ghana, per the report.

The report which was released on March 14, by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network for the United Nations ahead of World Happiness Day on March 20, ranked the countries based on the well-being of persons in the countries.

The variables include Income, freedom, health, life expectancy, trust, social support and generosity.

Finland was ranked number 1, followed by Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland and Netherlands respectively. The United States ranked 18 while China ranked 86.

Top 5 countries on the list are Libya ranking 70th, Algeria ranked 84th, Morocco 85th, Nigeria 91st, and Somalia 98th.

The bottom 5 countries included Yemen 152nd, Tanzania 153rd, South Sudan 154th, Central African Republic 155th, with Burundi ranking the lowest as 156th.
